CACHS Kicks Off Walk For A Cure Month With NephCure
Camden Academy Charter High School seniors give back at NephCure Walk.

With the month of October designated by Camden Academy Charter High School (CACHS) as Walk for A Cure Month, approximately 40 seniors will do their part in the fight against kidney disease as they make the trip to Cooper River Park in Pennsauken on Sunday, October 12 for the NephCure Walk.
During the NephCure Walk, Camden Academy will be represented by team Dash for Ash. At the helm will be Camden Academy’s 12th grade dean Dara Ash, who has been leading this CACHS team annually for the past 5 years.
To raise funds and awareness for the event, Ash and Camden Academy students sold NephCure bands, t-shirts and paper kidneys throughout the month. All money raised by NephCure fundraisers and the NephCure Walk will go to improving treatment options and a cure to Nephrotic Syndrome and Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), both of which are two potentially serious forms of kidney disease. The event is hosted by NephCure Kidney International, an organization exclusively committed to fighting both forms of kidney disease.

While attending the event, team Dash for Ash will donate all funds raised throughout the month, approximately $250 in total. Including this year’s donation, team Dash for Ash has contributed close to $1,800 throughout the entirety of the school’s participation in the NephCure Walk.
NephCure Walk is the first of two walks that will include the participation of Academy staff and students this month.
