Camden Community Charter School Parents Enjoy PTA-Sponsored 'Kroc Night' Open House

Parents of students enrolled in Camden Community Charter School recently had a chance to tour The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Camden as part of a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) program.

The PTA-sponsored “Kroc Night” enabled parents to visit the new facility in the Cramer Hill section of the City for a two-hour window during which they could tour the building, participate in a fitness class, speak with various program directors and even have a chance to win one of 10 swim lesson packages. The Kroc Center waived the registration fees for parents who registered for memberships during the event.
Kroc Night was part of an ongoing effort by Camden Community Charter School to make a positive impact on the health of its students, their families and the community.

“We believe that the lessons children learn in our classrooms are even more successful when they are reinforced at home. It’s important for us to not only educate our students about healthy living, but make sure their parents and families have access to the tools to live healthy and active lifestyles, as well,” said Camden Community Charter School Principal Andrea Surratt.
