Camden County Freeholders to Work on Lakeland Environmental Park for MLK Day of Service
They will work with students and staff at Camden County College on the project.

The Camden County Freeholder Board will spend the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service alongside members of the community and Camden County College students and employees providing assistance at the Sustainable Camden County campus.
Freeholder Michelle Gentek, liaison to Sustainable Camden County, will lead a contingent of residents and students to create the new environmental park in Lakeland prior to the spring planting season.
“Camden County College will help us build a new park that will focus on sustainable initiatives such as composting, organic growing techniques, native plants, community supported agriculture, rain water harvesting, renewable energy, along with rain and vegetable gardens,” Gentek said. “The Environmental Park will also include the area’s first sensory garden containing therapeutic and tangible features for children with special needs and will provide inclusion opportunities for students of all abilities.”
