Cooper’s Ferry Partnership Celebrates Scungio Borst & Associates’ Decade of Success in Camden
Cooper’s Ferry Partnership and Mayor Dana L. Redd gathered recently with Scungio Borst & Associates (SBA) to celebrate 10 years of the company’s success in Camden.
"I congratulate Scungio Borst & Associates (SBA) on 10 years of success as a company and for their commitment to the City of Camden. Since 2004, SBA has grown into an international construction management firm with its roots firmly planted in Camden and the South Jersey region,” said Camden Mayor Dana L. Redd. “Their commitment and passion to revitalizing our city and region is evident not only in the types of projects they take on but also in the quality of life improvements they sustain for our residents. They are a model for any business looking to move or relocate to Camden. We look forward to what the next 10 years have in store."
The international construction management firm with clients in North America, Europe and Asia, has maintained its headquarters at One Port Center in Camden for the past decade.

“When we set out to find a location for our business, we were immediately drawn to Camden because of the fantastic efforts of so many to revive the city. We wished to be part of this effort while looking regionally and globally to serve our clients,” said Scott Scungio, co-founder and principal, SBA.
“The city’s great location, access to incredible talent from the region’s best universities and fantastic financial incentives make Camden an ideal location for any industry to locate and flourish. We are happy to call Camden home.”

"While our office has officially been in Camden since our inception in 2003, SBA has been committed to working in and with the city long before the exciting opportunities afforded for businesses of today. We saw an incredible vision and passion within the city: vision that was starting to bring the city back to life,” said Philip Borst, co-founder and principal, SBA. “We are happy to be a part of that vision and we are happy that we made the decision to start our business here. We encourage businesses to do the same.”
SBA, which serves as a project management consultant, general contractor, design/builder for government, private and developer clients, provides construction services for an ever expanding list of industries including the retail, commercial, institutional, residential and health care, pharmaceutical and parking industries.
In 2012, Cooper’s Ferry engaged SBA to work as the construction management firm overseeing all home improvements for the Camden POWER (Program Offering Widespread Energy Recovery) program. POWER is a City of Camden initiative, administered by Cooper’s Ferry with fiscal agent New Jersey Housing Mortgage & Finance Agency, which grants Camden homeowners the necessary funds to complete energy efficient retrofits to their homes at no cost. Funded by grants from the U.S. Department of Energy and NJ Economic Recovery Board, POWER leverages existing state programs through the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) to increase the value of the homes for Camden residents. To date, 160 homes have been retrofitted, delivering up to $18,600 of energy efficient improvements. These improvements provide long-term sustainable energy and utility bill savings for Camden homeowners while stabilizing neighborhoods and putting local contractors to work.
"Cooper’s Ferry Partnership has worked with SBA since they first moved to the city. I congratulate them on 10 years of success in the city,” said Anthony Perno, CEO of Cooper’s Ferry Partnership. “Most recently, Cooper’s Ferry engaged SBA to oversee the construction of the POWER Program, which helped to achieve several economic, energy-related retrofits and quality-of-life improvements for Camden residents. Their commitment to the city proves that businesses can grow, thrive and expand in Camden."
