Dog Debuts As New K9 Officer For South Jersey Police Department

It's been more than 30 years since the department has had a K9 unit.

HADDON, NJ — A pup is back on patrol for Haddon Township after the municipality reinstated its K9 Program.

K9 Ivy was welcomed in with Officer Munyon after they completed of a 12-week academy held by the New Jersey Police K9 Association in Voorhees.

The duo is trained in drug detection and tracking, Haddon Police said.

Along with these duties, Ivy will be present at events around town and play an important role in community engagement.

"We are excited to welcome K9 Ivy to the Haddon Township Police Department family and look forward to the positive impact this program will have on our community," the department added.

This is the first time in more than 30 years that a K9 unit has served Haddon Township.
