Off-Duty Camden County Cop Foils Crime in Gloucester Township

Robert Shea apprehended a Sicklerville man during an attempted shoplifting. Police found heroin and drug paraphernalia on the suspect.

A Camden County Police Officer was on his way to a training assignment on Wednesday.

Before he arrived, he made a quick stop at Wawa, where he ended up capturing a shoplifter who was in possession of heroin and was wanted on warrants.

Robert Shea made a stop at the Wawa on Sicklerville Road around 8:19 a.m. when he saw a 31-year-old Sicklerville man allegedly attempting to steal various food items worth $28.44.

Shea detained Sherrod Tucker and contacted the Gloucester Township Police Department.

A subsequent search of Tucker allegedly revealed a bag of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

He was also wanted on three outstanding warrants. He was charged with shoplifting and was remanded to the Camden County Corrections Facility.
