Early Dismissal for Haddonfield High School Due to Excessive Heat

Schools will dismiss at 12:30 p.m.

Haddonfield Public Schools will have an early dismissal on Friday due to excessive heat, according to NBC 10. Afternoon kindergarten and preschool are canceled.

Temperatures were expected to climb into the 90’s on Friday, and the National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory from noon-8 p.m.

The Heat Advisory is in effect throughout South Jersey, as heat index values are expected to exceed 100 degrees. It is expected to be hottest between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., but heat indices are expected to remain in the 90’s after 8 p.m.

Those who work outside are advised to avoid strenuous activity as much as possible, or reschedule for early morning or evening. They are also advised to wear light clothing and drink plenty of water.

Residents should stay in the air conditioning, out of the sun, check up on neighbors and relatives and never leave children or pets unattended.
