The Big Ta-Da! ..at  The Little Shop!

On Friday evening, June 1^st,  The Little Shop will unveil 2 quilts in the shop windows…

What’s  “TaDa” about  that, you ask?

Well…this winter two HMHS seniors, Marilyn Day and Rosy Tucker were challenged

 to create self portrait quilts.

Rosy and Marilyn have been working at The Little Shop afterschool and weekends, and are creative and resourceful.  The girl worked on their projects  when there was a little extra time in the shop.

The challenge was to create a life sized self portrait  in fabric. The girls started by tracing each other on  large sheets of paper, and then they began to draw. They worked for  a few hours, with lots of frowning and grumping. Then we suggested that they didn’t need to be quite so literal. Things got a lot more fun after that!

Many of our customers and friends have enjoyed watching the progress of these projects…   and now that they are finished, we would like to share them with the community….
