THE EVERGREENS WELCOMES FORMER PENNSYLVANIA CONGRESSMAN AND IRAQ VETERAN PATRICK J. MURPHY

The public is invited to a free event at The Evergreens Continuing Care Retirement Community in Moorestown, N.J. on Monday, November 10 at 10 a.m. featuring the Honorable Patrick J. Murphy, America’s first Iraq veteran elected to U.S. Congress. Former Congressman Murphy’s presentation is entitled “Duty, Honor, Courage – How Veterans Continue to Lead by Example.”

Murphy is recognized as a litigator and champion for veterans. During his two terms in congress, Murphy was a prolific legislator authoring the bill to repeal the anti-gay “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy. He led the fight for the largest increase in veteran’s benefits in American history as well as for the passage of the post-9/11 GI bill that has helped more than one million veterans.

Murphy is a partner in the national law firm Fox Rothschild LLP and is the host of the MSNBC show, “Taking the Hill.” He serves on the board of the United States Military Academy at West Point and is a member of the Senior Fellows program at the Center for American Progress.
