Gloucester City's Charlie Aymes to Compete in Men's Physique Bodybuilding Competition

Gloucester City's Charlie Aymes to Compete in Men's Physique Bodybuilding Competition at NPC Tri-State National Qualifier

Nationally qualified physique bodybuilder Charlie Aymes will compete in the National Physique Committee Tri-State National Qualifier on Saturday, August 1, presented by Natural Vitamins, New York. The national qualifier will take place at Shawnee High School located at 600 Tabernacle Road in Medford, N.J.

To earn a spot at the national qualifier, competitors must place in the top three in their NPC-sanctioned figure height class. Aymes earned his national qualification during the 2014 Shaw Ray Classic in Towson, MD, where he placed second in his height class.

Typically separated into one of six height classes, each competitor in the Men’s Physique category is judged on his muscularity and body condition, as well as his stage presence and personality. Competitors will each walk to the center stage alone for a solo presentation before being brought out for the comparison round. Judges will look for the contestant with the best stage presence, who can successfully convey his personality to the audience.

“I’m excited to step on stage again this year to compete,” said Aymes. “I’ve been working really hard during the off-season with my coach and peers in the gym to make me the athlete I am today. This year will be the most exciting one yet for me since I’m more prepared for this show than I was last year.”

Aymes currently attends Rowan University, where he is majoring in Health Promotions and Fitness Management. He attended Gloucester City High School in Gloucester City.
