Haddon Township Man Celebrates 100th Birthday By Going Back To Work

Bill Hansen just needed one more day working at Hutchinson Plumbing in Cherry Hill.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Bill Hansen just needed a few years off.

The Haddon Township man, who retired Hutchinson Plumbing Heating Cooling in Cherry Hill at the age of 98, returned to work for his 100th birthday, according to published reports.

The retired permit coordinator was welcomed back with a birthday cake and a standing ovation, according to The Associated Press. But it wasn’t all fun and games; CEO Fred Hutchison paid Hansen $1 to complete a list of assignments for the day.

Hansen had just three jobs in his life: he also spent nearly 40 years in sales and service at Exxon and five years with Diamond Fuels, according to NBC 10.

He told Fox 29 he was blessed with a great woman and a great family life.
