Haddon Township Tree Lighting Set For Friday Night
The "Parade of Lights" will make its way down Haddon Avenue beginning at 7 p.m.

HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ - Santa Claus is on his way to Haddon Township, and he’ll be here Friday night. The “Parade of Lights,” sponsored by the Westmont Fire Company No.1, will make its way down Haddon Avenue on Friday, Nov. 30, beginning at about 7 p.m. for the Holiday on Haddon celebration.
Decorated fire trucks, bands, floats, holiday characters and, of course, Santa, will all be parading their way to the Township Tree at the municipal building, according to a Facebook post about the event.
Once they reach the tree, the lighting ceremony can begin. Santa can’t do it alone, though, and all of his little helpers will be encouraged to help magically light the tree. Refreshments will follow and children will have the chance to sit on Santa’s lap before he returns to the North Pole.

There is no rain date for the parade, but refreshments and photos with Santa will still be held at the Westmont Fire house in case of inclement weather. The township will also be collecting unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items for the annual Holiday Toy Drive that evening.
Vehicular traffic and parking will not be permitted on Haddon Avenue in the area of the parade route. Drivers should use West Park Boulevard and West Crystal Lake Boulevard as an alternate. For more information on the parade, contact Kate Burns at kburns@haddontwp.com.
