Haddonfield Bulldogs Take Group II State Cross Country 2014 Title

The Haddonfield Boys Cross Country team capped an outstanding fall 2014 campaign by winning the New Jersey Group II state title on Saturday, November 15th at Holmdel. It was a fitting finish to a season that saw the Bulldogs extend their undefeated dual meet record , claim the Colonial Conference championship, and win their 11th consecutive and 34rd overall South Jersey Sectional title.

The Bulldogs scoring pack was led by Junior Greg Pelose (10th overall), Seniors Chad Evans (12th) and Chris Goings (13th) and Danny Brennan (17th), Juniors Colin Gallagher (33rd) and Austin Stoner (37th), and sophomore Brandon Quanci (53rd) rounded out the varsity seven for Haddonfield. Their 77 team points and 16:42 average placed them ahead of runner-up (Voorhees with 83 points ), and 3rd place finisher (Robinsville with 102 points ).

As the Group II title winner, Haddonfield competed on November 22nd in the Meet of Champions at Holmdel. This meet combines the top three teams from each of the six different New Jersey high school groups in one race. Haddonfield Bulldogs had a strong finish of 5th at MOC, based on the determination and drive, that has led them to their many successes this season.
