Haddonfield Commissioner John Moscatelli To Resign

He will be moving out of the area, borough officials announced on Tuesday. A special election will be held in November.

HADDONFIELD, NJ - Haddonfield Commissioner John Moscatelli is resigning because he is moving out of the area, borough officials announced Tuesday morning.

He will remain in office until a replacement can be named. Two years remain on his term, and Mayor Neal Rochford and Commissioner Jeffrey Stephen Kasko will appoint someone to fill the vacancy temporarily.

Anyone interested in filling the vacancy immediately should submit a cover letter and resume to the Borough Clerk’s Office by May 24.

Rochford and Kasko will interview candidates and appoint a replacement, at which time Moscatelli will formally resign, officials said.

A special election to fill the remainder of the term will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 5, the same day as the general election. The term expires in May 2021.

Petitions to run in the special election will be available in the borough clerk’s office beginning Monday, June 10, and must be completed and returned by Tuesday, Sept. 3.
