Haddonfield Football Team Earns Top Seed In Playoffs

The undefeated Bulldawgs are the No. 1 seed in the South Jersey Group 2 playoffs.

HADDONFIELD, NJ — The road to a South Jersey Group 2 football championship goes through Haddonfield, and for the first time, the teams that emerge as South Jersey champions will play their Central Jersey counterparts.

Undefeated Haddonfield is the top seed in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 playoffs, according to nj.com. The Bulldawgs will host No. 8 Sterling in the first round on Friday night, Nov. 2, 7 p.m.

The winner will play the winner of the game between No. 4 Pleasantville and No. 5 Cedar Creek in the semifinals on Nov. 9. The championship game is set for Nov. 16, but it doesn’t end there this season.

After the traditional Thanksgiving Week rivalry games, the South Jersey Group 2 champions will play the Central Jersey Group 2 champions. To view the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 2 playoff bracket, visit nj.com.

Haddonfield is 8-0 this season, and defeated Sterling, 41-7, on Sept. 8. They have also beaten potential second round opponent Pleasantville, 20-7. Their closest margin of victory was over No. 3 seed West Deptford, 27-21, on Oct. 5. They also won at No. 7 seed Collingswood, 42-0, on Oct. 19.

Sterling is 4-5, winning two of its last three games to make the playoffs.
