Haddonfield, Haddon Township to Play for Field Hockey Crown

The teams compete for the Central Jersey Group I title on Thursday.

The NJSIAA Central Jersey Group I field hockey champion will come from either Haddonfield or Haddon Township high schools.

No. 1 Haddonfield hosts No. 3 Haddon Township in the championship game on Thursday, 3 p.m., according to nj.com.

Haddonfield advanced to the final with an 8-1 win over No. 8 Paulsboro and a 10-0 win over No. 4 Cinnaminson.

Caroline Bickel, Emma Feldhake and Sophie Popp each scored two goals in the win over Paulsboro. Maddie Bickel and Meghan Smart each had a goal, and goalie Megan Maynes made six saves.

Smart and Feldhake each had two goals against Cinnaminson. Julia Battino, Caroline Bickel, Maddie Bickel, Suzie Clark, Natalie Naticchia and Sophie Popp each had a goal.

Haddon Township advanced to the final with a 1-0 win over No. 6 Collingswood and a 6-0 win over No. 7 Audubon.

Regan Dougherty scored the game-winning goal with one minute, 38 seconds left in regulation of the game against Collingswood. Goalie Jillian Caputo made seven saves.

Dougherty set a new single-season scoring record with her 67th goal in the win over Audubon. She previously held the school record of 66. Julia Haigh had three goals, and Megan Hoopes and Brie Lynch each had a goal in the win. Caputo made three saves, and Nicole Beck had one.

Haddonfield comes into the game with a record of 19-1-1. Haddon Township is 17-5.
