Haddonfield, Haddon Wrestling Teams Qualify For Playoffs

Both teams open the playoffs Monday night.

The Haddonfield and Haddon Township high school wrestling teams are both set to compete for championships.

Haddonfield (16-4) is the No. 2 seed in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 playoffs, according to nj.com. The Bulldawgs will host No. 4 Haddon Heights (11-6) in the quarterfinals on Monday, Feb. 4, 7 p.m.

The winners will face the winners of the match between No. 3 Oakcrest and No. 6 Collingswood in the semifinals on Feb. 6. The championship match is set for Feb. 8.

Haddonfield has scored more than 50 points in nine wins this season. Of its four losses, two came against teams from outside the state, while another came against undefeated Paulsboro and the other against Haddon Township.

Haddon Township (12-5) is the No. 5 seed in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 1 playoffs, according to nj.com. The Hawks will visit No. 4 Pennsville (12-5) in the quarterfinals on Monday, Feb. 4, 7 p.m.

The winners face the winners of the match between top-seeded Paulsboro and No. 8 Pitman in the semifinals on Feb. 6. The championship match is set for Feb. 8.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Haddon Township was on a five-match winning streak, including victories over Haddonfield, Lindenwold, Pemberton, Deptford and Egg Harbor Township.
