Haddonfield High School Football Team To Play For Sectional Title

The Bulldawgs remained undefeated with a 28-6 win over Pleasantville.

HADDONFIELD, NJ — Davis Smith gave the Haddonfield Memorial High School football team just the spark it needed to remain unbeaten and keep alive its quest for a South Jersey title.

The top-seeded Bulldawgs improved to 10-0 and advanced to the finals of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 playoffswith a 28-6 win over No. 4 Pleasantville, according to nj.com. Haddonfield will host No. 2 Camden in the final on Friday, Nov. 16, 7 p.m.

Smith took the second-half kickoff all the way to the Greyhounds’ 15-yard line to get things started, according to the report. He caught a 26-yard touchdown pass from Jay Foley and returned an interception 45 yards for a score in the second half. Foley also scored on a 1-yard run, and Lance Forebaugh recovered a punt he blocked in the end zone for another score.

Haddonfield was in the semifinals after a 41-7 rout of No. 8 Sterling in the first round. Foley threw four touchdown passes in that win. To view the full bracket, visit nj.com.
