Haddonfield Historical Society To Host Discussion On 'The Real Jersey Devil'

Dr. Brian Regal from Kean University will discuss his research.

Haddonfield, NJ -- The Historical Society of Haddonfield will host a discussion about “The Real Jersey Devil” on Wednesday night, Nov. 16, 7:30 p.m. at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 204 Wayne Avenue.

Dr. Brian Regal from Kean University will discuss his research showing that the popular legend that centers around "Mother Leeds" and her demonic offspring is political, not biological.

The true tale of family patriarch Daniel Leeds and his son Titan involves colonial Quaker in-fighting, a family of almanac makers and religious heretics, a cross-dressing royal governor, and Benjamin Franklin.
