Haddonfield-Haddon Township residents to perform in "The Wizard Of Oz"
Ready to welcome you to Munchkinland, Theo-Mitchell Penner and Abby Swaney take the stage at Walnut Street Theatre.
This holiday season, young talent from Haddonfield and Haddon Township will take the stage at Philadelphia’s most popular theatre company. Walnut Street Theatre’s production of the all-time classic musical, The Wizard Of Oz, celebrated its opening last month and continues through January 8.
Ready to welcome you to Munchkinland, Actor Theo Mitchell-Penner, a 4th grader, plays a member of the Lollipop Guild in the production. Before marking his debut at Walnut Street Theatre, Mitchell-Penner has also performed at the MacGuffin Theatre and Film Company in its production of The Music Man. Mitchell-Penner is scheduled to appear in all weekday performances of the show.
Abby Swaney, a 7th grader at William Rohrer Middle School, plays a Munchkin in all weekend performances. She is also active in McMagical Productions, a non-profit organization committed to raising funds and awareness for various worthy causes through advancement of the performing arts.

Mitchell-Penner and Swaney, along with their 28 Munchkin cast-mates, are all members of The Theatre School at Walnut Street Theatre.
On stage, The Wizard Of Oz features all of the Oscar-winning songs from the movie including "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "We're Off To See The Wizard," all the favorite characters and iconic moments, plus a few surprises along the way.
