Haddonfield School Board To Discuss Reopening At Next 2 Meetings

HADDONFIELD, NJ — The Haddonfield Public School District Board of Education will discuss the district’s reopening plan during a pair of upcoming meetings.

The board will meet on Thursday night each of the next two weeks — on Aug. 28 and Sept. 3 — at 7 p.m. Both meetings will stream live on the district’s YouTube channel.

“The board will discuss and approve two new policies regarding procedures necessary for the opening of schools for the 2020-2021 school year,” the district said in announcing the meetings. “There will be a segment during which you can call in with questions or comments.”

There were no agendas posted for either meeting on the district’s website Tuesday morning. In July, the district introduced a plan that calls for a mix of in-person and remote learning when schools reopen in the fall amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Under the hybrid portion of the plan, students in all grades will be split into two groups, with one group attending class in-person on Monday and Tuesday, and the other attending in-person on Thursday and Friday.

On days in which they are not in school, children will engage in remote learning. All students will engage in remote learning on Wednesdays.

Students will be separated based on last name, with last names that begin with A-L attending on Mondays and Tuesdays and students with last names that begin with M-Z attending on Thursdays and Fridays. Read more here: Haddonfield Schools To Offer In-Person, Remote Learning
