Teen Fatally Shot, Homicide Investigation Underway In South Jersey: Prosecutor
Authorities have not publicly identified the 16-year-old.
BRIDGETON, NJ — Authorities opened a homicide investigation after a teen suffered a fatal gunshot wound, the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office announced Monday.
Bridgeton police responded to Mount Vernon Street just before 9 p.m. Sunday for a report of a person suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers found the victim dead at the scene, authorities said.
The victim was a 16-year-old male who lived in Millville, the prosecutor's office said. The agency didn't publicly identify the decedent as of Monday afternoon.

There is no threat to the public at this time, authorities said.
