Lourdes Nurse Manager Named to "20 Under 40" List of Top Professionals

Francis Hogan, RN, BSN, RN-BC, nurse manager at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, was recently named one of South Jersey Biz magazine’s “20 Under 40” professionals. The magazine’s list features area managers and executives under age 40 who are making a positive impact on the South Jersey business community.

With 19 years of emergency and critical care nursing experience, Hogan manages the daily operations of Lourdes’ 31-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The PCU is a step-down unit for patients who may not need intensive care but still require specialized care and monitoring.

In addition to his nurse manager role, Hogan is a member of 15 hospital committees. He also leads Lourdes’ Share and Care initiative, a system-wide fundraising campaign to help those less fortunate in Camden. Last year, with Hogan’s leadership, Lourdes employees provided Christmas presents for 81 “adopted” families in need.

When asked the most rewarding part of his job, Hogan replied, “There are so many rewarding parts of my present role—seeing a patient at the most vulnerable time in his or her life and realizing how the great care your team provides them can make the experience manageable, even at times, pleasant. There are many rewards you receive that cannot be quantified. There is personal satisfaction in knowing that you did everything you can for the well-being of others.”
