Man Arrested In Bank Robberies In Haddon Township, Haddon Heights

He was arrested in Phildaelphia Wednesday afternoon.

HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Collingswood man has been arrested and charged in a pair of recent bank robberies.

David Walker, 40, was arrested at about 2 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon on the 4300 block of Aramingo Avenue in Philadelphia without incident by the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the police departments in Haddon Township and Haddon Heights announced in a joint statement.

He is being charged with two counts of robbery in connection with recent bank robberies in Haddon Heights and Haddon Township.

Walker is accused of robbing the TD Bank at 500 White Horse Pike in Haddon Heights on May 18. In that incident, he passed a demand note to the teller and fled east on the White Horse Pike with an undisclosed amount of money in a silver Toyota Scion, police said.

He is accused of robbing a Wells Fargo Bank on West Cuthbert Boulevard in Haddon Township three days later. In that incident, he passed a demand note to the teller, and made off with an undisclosed amount of money in an unknown direction.

No gun was displayed, and no one was injured in either incident, police said.

Walker was arrested after an investigation by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Haddon Township Police Department, Haddon Heights Police Department, aided by tips from the community.

He was transported to the Philadelphia Police department and is awaiting extradition to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a pretrial detention hearing. Under Criminal Justice Reform rules, the court may order he be detained or released with conditions.
