Man Left Stolen Cards, IDs At Haddon Twp. Wawa: Police

He called Wawa and asked if the cards were still there. Police met him at the store when he went to retrieve them.

HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A man called Wawa and said he left several debit cards and IDs at the store. They were stolen, and he was arrested when he returned, according to Haddon Township police.

Jesus A. Colon left the cards on the counter, police said. After leaving, he called at about 4 a.m. Thursday to ask if they were still there.

Store employees found the behavior suspicious and called police. Colon, 45, of Turnersville, was arrested when he returned.

After police determined that the cards didn't belong to Colon, he admitted to stealing them, authorities said. During an ensuing search, police say they found additional items he stole.

Detectives interviewed Colon and found that he burglarized multiple vehicles on Addison Avenue. He also admitted to trying to break into a vehicle last month on Westmont Avenue.

He had active warrants, as well.

Colon was charged with credit card fraud, burglary, theft and attempted burglary. He was placed in the Camden County Jail.
