Edelstein told police he saw the victims looking in his direction several times, the affidavit states. He mentioned that they appeared to be school children and that he felt aroused, according to the document.

He was charged with two counts each of endangering the welfare of a child (third-degree), criminal sexual contact (fourth-degree), and lewdness (disorderly persons offense).

The victims saw Edelstein masturbating while driving past them twice by West Crystal Lake Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard. Their third encounter with him was a couple of blocks away, by Pyle and Crestwood Avenues, the affidavit says.

Both areas are in the vicinity of multiple Haddon Township schools of different grade levels.

Police described Edelstein's vehicle as a white minivan with black handles that are lower to the ground.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.

Edelstein's attorney, Timothy Farrow, declined comment.
