MEND Establishes Academic Scholarship Program in collaboration with Burlington County College Foundation

Moorestown Ecumenical Neighborhood Development, Inc. (MEND), in collaboration with Burlington County College Foundation, has established a MEND Academic Scholarship program to benefit residents of MEND-owned apartments wishing to further their education at Burlington County College (BCC).

Through the program, a maximum of three MEND Academic Scholarships will be awarded each fall and spring semester. This opportunity is open to all MEND residents. Students may receive up to $1,250 per semester to be used toward tuition, fees and books. Eligible students may qualify for the scholarship up to four semesters, but will be required to re-apply each semester.

“We are overjoyed to be able to give our residents an opportunity to further their education and ultimately enhance the quality of their lives,” stated Stephanie Blackwell, Corporate Development Officer of MEND.

“MEND’s dedication to their residents and support of their education are admirable,” said BCC Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Foundation Executive Director Rebecca Corbin. “Burlington County College is committed to providing access to high-quality education for all residents and MEND’s Academic Scholarship program helps achieve that goal.”

Applications for the spring semester of 2015 are now open until Monday, November 10, 2014. The Burlington County College Foundation will provide qualified applications to the MEND Board of Trustees for review and selection.
