DETAILS:

The 40th Anniversary Memorial March will recreate a march that was held on April 2, 1975 to honor the lives of Patrolmen Donald Aleshire and John Holmes of the Mount Holly Police Department and Patrolman William Wurst of the Hainesport Police Department. On that day, colleagues who worked alongside these fallen patrolmen, as well as police departments from around the state and members of the greater community, paid their respects to these brave men by forming a lengthy procession that started on High Street and ended at the funeral home.

Now, 40 years later, officers from around the state and members of the public are invited to gather and march once more in recognition of the fallen patrolmen. At the conclusion of the march, a memorial plaque will be laid at the site of the tragic shooting on Garden Street, commemorating the selfless sacrifice of these brave men and ensuring their legacy lives on.
