New Head of School Appointed at Haddonfield Friends School

Matthew Sharp begins his term as head of school on Friday, July 1.

The Haddonfield Friends School (HFS) Board of Trustees has named Matthew Sharp as the new head of school beginning Friday, July 1. Sharp has served as a principal at K-12 schools and institutions in South Jersey for 15 years. He is passionate about strengthening curriculum cohesiveness and continuity, establishing processes for understanding the “whole student” and hands-on, experiential learning. Sharp looks forward to building strong relationships with parents and extended communities as well as creating transparency of classroom and administration.

“The Haddonfield Friends School community is excited to have someone as talented and respected as Matthew Sharp as our new Head of School,” said Louise Senopoulos, clerk of HFS Board of Trustees and member of the search committee. ”He has tremendous energy, passion and enthusiasm for education and Quaker values.”

Sharp and his wife, Dayna, are Quakers and members of the Haddonfield monthly meeting. The couple’s oldest son is enrolled in HFS’s full-day kindergarten program. Sharp shared his view of HFS as “a magical place, where children discover a love of learning that persists throughout their lives.”
