New Senior Healthcare Plan to be Introduced in Camden County Thursday

Camden County Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez, liaison to the Camden County Health Department, and Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) will unveil their plan to help struggling seniors by introducing a new initiative to provide financial stability and security to combat spiraling health care costs on Thursday.

They will introduce their new senior initiative on Thursday, March 31, 1:30 p.m. at the Senior Citizens United Community Services (SCUCS), 537 West Nicholson Road in Audubon.

“We are constantly working with seniors who are on a fixed-income and struggling to pay the bills on a month to month basis,” Rodriguez said. “Common-sense reforms are needed that will create a stable financial environment for the residents we service on daily basis and residents that are dependent on the federal safety-net.”

Senior Citizens United Community Services (SCUCS) is a not-for-profit social service agency whose mission is to enhance the quality of life, encourage independence and provide a safe and supportive living environment for Older Adults, especially those with the greatest socio-economic need.

Their goal is to keep older adults living independently and active in the community by offering an array of services to address their needs and provide support for their caregivers.

Such services include SEN-HAN transportation, Meals on Wheels, congregate nutrition, homemaker-home health aide services, emergency services, housing counseling, case management, respite care and adult family care.

SCUCS receives funding from the Camden County Freeholder Board.
