New York Man Sentenced for Sexual Assaults of Teenage Girl in South Jersey
Hiram A. Celestine was previously found guilty of assaulting the girl from 2010 to 2012.

A man from Brooklyn, NY, has been sentenced to 39 years in prison for sexually assaulting a teenage girl in Camden and Gloucester counties, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo announced Monday evening.
Hiram A. Celestine, 39, was convicted by a jury in July of five counts of sexual assault and one count each of criminal sexual contact, attempted sexual assault, harassment, resisting arrest and witness tampering.
As part of his sentence, Celestine will not be eligible for parole for about 25 years.

Celestine was convicted of having a sexual relationship with the victim from August of 2010 through September of 2012 in Woodlynne and Pennsauken as well as Monroe Township, Gloucester County, where Celestine formerly resided.
The victim was 15 years old when the sexual assaults began.

Celestine was arrested and charged in September of 2012 after he threatened to kill the victim in Camden and police became involved.
