NJ Election Results: Democratic Primary For County Freeholder
The two incumbents faced five challengers Tuesday night.

The two incumbents survived their first test. Camden County Freeholders Louis Cappelli Jr. and Jonathan Young emerged from a seven-person race for two open seats in the Democratic Primary Tuesday night, according to unofficial results posted on the county website.
Capelli Jr. earned 37.7 percent of the vote, and Young earned 35.39 percent of the vote. They defeated challengers Suzanne Shourds, Debra Lonsdale, Robert Beare, Mary Ann Dunn and Kathryn Petner. None of the challengers were able to break 7 percent of the vote in a primary that saw a typically low turnout of 46,460 voters.
Capelli Jr. and Young will face Republicans Keith Cybulski and Nicole Nance, who ran unopposed, in November’s general elections.
