Man Wanted For Murder In South Jersey Turns Himself In: Prosecutor

VINELAND, NJ — A South Jersey fugitive wanted for murder has turned himself in, authorities said Friday afternoon.

Angel A. Aguero reported himself to the Passaic Police Department early Friday morning, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office (CCPO). He was accused of a fatal shooting earlier this month in Vineland and had been at large for nearly two weeks.

Aguero was considered "armed and dangerous" while the U.S. Marshal's Service and other law enforcement looked for him, the CCPO said.

Prosecutors will move for his detention.

Two other men have been charged for their suspected \involvement in the slaying of Dashon Lee, the CCPO said.

Jamin Carney was charged March 14 with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Chavez Mills was also charged that day with conspiracy to commit murder.

Carney, 26, of Millville, was arrested March 15. The state has moved for his detention. Mills, 26, of Vineland, was taken into custody at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Vineland.

At about 12:30 a.m. March 9, Vineland police responded to a reported shooting at the Asselta Acres Apartments on Axtell Avenue, officials said. Arriving officers found Lee suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, according to the CCPO.

Lee, 35, of Vineland, was taken to Inspira Medical Center Vineland, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Aguero, 31, of Vineland, was charged with murder (first-degree), possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose (second-degree) and unlawful possession of a handgun (second-degree).
