Officer Saves Elderly Haddon Twp. Man From Going Missing

The man suffered a medical emergency that made him disoriented, but an Oaklyn patrol officer helped prevent a greater crisis.

OAKLYN, NJ — An elderly Haddon Township man nearly went missing. But an Oaklyn police officer spotted him early Tuesday morning and assisted him during a medical emergency.

Ptl. Michael McGeehan was conducting patrols throughout Oaklyn at 1:26 a.m., when he saw the same vehicle travel past him six times in an hour. McGeehan found the behavior "concerning" and stopped the driver — a 76-year-old Haddon Township resident — according to the Oaklyn Police Department.

The Haddon Township man was "disoriented" and didn't know his age, the current month or his location, police said. Authorities contacted a family member who said this behavior wasn't typical of him.
