In a tradition dating back to the earliest years of the school’s existence, Paul VI High School students and faculty are holding a Thanksgiving Food Drive for families in need. This year, their generosity will provide Thanksgiving dinner, complete with turkey and all the trimmings, for 50 families. Paul VI has partnered with a school in Camden for this community service program. The baskets will be delivered on Tuesday, November 24th.
“Since the very beginnings of Paul VI, the Gospel message of feeding the hungry has been an integral part of the school’s history,” said Clare McNamee, Director of Campus Ministry. “We look forward to continuing and expanding opportunities for the students to live the Works of Mercy as the Church begins the Year of Mercy in just a few weeks.”
Paul VI students embrace the opportunity to help others through the Thanksgiving Food Drive and additional programs throughout the year. Alumna Shannon Carty said, “Paul VI really emphasized the importance of service. That made such an impact on me. It gave me the desire to continue in college and throughout my life. Serving others makes you more humble and grateful for what you have.”
