Paul VI High School Launches 50th Anniversary Celebration with Mass Celebrated by Bishop Dennis Sullivan

On September 17, 2015 faculty and staff welcomed students for the start of Paul VI High School’s 50th year with a Mass celebrated with Bishop Dennis Sullivan. During this liturgy, students and faculty gave thanks and praise to God for the school and the opportunities it has provided for 50 years.

This Mass marks the start of the school’s Golden Jubilee with events spanning September, 2015 through November, 2016. Paul VI kicks off its 50th anniversary celebration filled with pride in its alumni, current students, and the improvements made over the years to provide students an excellent faith-based education coupled with numerous opportunities for achievement in extracurricular activities and athletics. Such an important milestone requires more than a one-day celebration. Therefore, Paul VI is marking the school’s golden jubilee, in a year filled with thanksgiving, reflection, and celebration.

Following Mass, Bishop Sullivan blessed the school’s newly renovated learning media center, and the new dining hall. The learning media center (LMC) has been expanded to include two classrooms that now give way to a 270-degree panoramic view of our campus. With its new state of the art furniture conducive to learning, the LMC allows for quiet study, reading, and research. This open layout allows for a meeting space for conferences and college visits.

The dining hall is the accurate name for the school’s newly renovated cafeteria. The counter space allows for work to be done while eating and gazing at the outdoor facility. Paul VI students enjoy the comfortable seating and high top tables, which give the dining hall a true bistro look. After the dining hall blessing, students celebrated with a 50th anniversary cake during each lunch period.
