Police Reopen Investigation of 1973 Murder in South Jersey

A Magnolia man is the target of the revived investigation, the Courier Post reports.

A Magnolia man told the Courier Post he has been targeted by police in the 1973 murder of his ex-girlfriend at a Stratford apartment complex.

Melvin Pinkston, 64, didn’t tell the newspaper anything more, stating he needs to speak with an attorney.

Linda Lepordo was found murdered at the apartment complex now known as Woodmere Apartments in 1973, according to the report. She had a misspelled racial slur carved into her leg. She was white and Pinkston is black.
