Public Invited to Samaritan Art Exhibit

Local Artist David Grafton Showcases Pastels and Paintings of the American Landscape

David Grafton, formerly of Medford, NJ, will showcase his artwork at the Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice Inpatient Art Gallery from now through December31. A portion of art sale proceeds will benefit Samaritan’s programs and services.

Grafton currently resides in Easton, MD where he is owner of Grafton Galleries (32 E. Dover St., Easton, MD) which has been open for business for the past 12 years. Before moving to Maryland, Grafton was a member of the Medford Artist Group and former president of the Medford Business Alliance. He has since traveled back to the area to participate as a judge in Medford’s Annual Art Show. In recent years, Grafton’s work has also been featured in the one-person art showcase at the Museum of Art in Danville, VA. He has become widely collected across the United States and Europe, and counts the Director of the National Gallery of Art as one of his current clients.

Grafton’s exhibit will feature a series of 18 pastels and paintings showcasing the American landscape, drawing inspiration particularly from the Eastern Shore. His paintings of beach and dunes from the East Coast elicit strong emotional memories for both the viewer and painter. His works are iconic, atmospheric portraits of America in all its beauty.
