Rock Music Education for the Autism Community

Rock the Spectrum: Rock Music Education for the Autism Community

Cherry Hill School of Rock has launched a new program, Rock the Spectrum!

Similar to School of Rock’s “Rock 101” program, “Rock 102” includes a weekly 45 minute lesson and 1 hour group rehearsal, tweaked to accommodate the unique strengths and challenges of the Autism Community. In addition to music performance, students will dip into rock history, theory, and appreciation, all taught by a Certified Behavioral Assistant. The program will culminate in a live rock show for friends and family on the new stage at the SOR facility! Rock the Spectrum also offers “Rock 102: Unplugged,” a version of “Rock 102” specifically designed for our students with auditory sensitivity. Also led by a Certified Behavioral Assistant, students will have the opportunity to learn music performance, theory, and appreciation, minus the loud drums and amplifiers.

Rock the Spectrum’s head instructor, Miles Pisani, is a Certified Behavioral Assistant who has extensive experience working with youth in the Autistic Community. With over a decade of performing music under his belt, Miles is a skilled guitarist knowledgeable in bass, drums, keyboard, and vocals.
