Ronald McDonald House of South Jersey to Host American Girl Fashion Show in Haddonfield

Proceeds will help families of seriously ill children who are staying at the Camden nonprofit while their children receive treatment.

CAMDEN, N.J. – The Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey will host the 18th Annual American Girl Fashion Show on Saturday, February 28, and Sunday, March 1, 2015, at the Tavistock Country Club in Haddonfield, New Jersey. Attendees will enjoy a festive ice cream social & tea party while watching young models their own age walk the runway with their dolls in the latest fashion styles of today and yesterday as worn by girls in the days of the historical American Girl characters. Proceeds from the event will support Ronald McDonald House programs for families with sick and injured children.

“For many girls, the American Girl Fashion Show has become a unique tradition that they look forward to each year,” said Teddy Thomas, Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey. “Girls get dressed up, show off their dolls, take photos with their friends and enjoy a special day out with their mothers, sisters, friends, aunts, and grandmothers. Everyone comes away with wonderful memories of their American Girl experience while also supporting all of the seriously ill children who have to stay at Ronald McDonald House of SNJ.”

The event is comprised of five different shows over the course of two days. Members of the Teen Advisory Council – a group of students from various South Jersey high schools who regularly volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House of SNJ – will serve as commentators during each of the five shows. As each model walks the runway, the commentator will talk about the history surrounding each American Girl character she represents and highlight characteristics of outfits during that time period.
