Registration is open for the annual Carz N’ Toyz “Run for the Kids” set for Sunday morning, April 13. The event is a 5K Run and 1-mile walk that begins at Virtua Hospital, 100 Bowman Drive, Voorhees.

Founded in 2011 Carz N’ Toyz is a non-profit whose mission is to bring happiness to ailing children who are hospitalized in southern New Jersey. The organization also funds concussion impact testing for young athletes.  Since its founding, Carz N’ Toyz has raised money and donated toys for sick children in the region.

Bob Paglione, event chairman and Board Member, hopes this year’s race is its biggest yet.

“The 5K Run/Walk starts off our year of activities with a sense of energy and enthusiasm.  Serious runners as well as children of all ages come to participate, enjoy the venue and help Carz N’ Toyz kick off the new year with a fast start.  Hopefully the weather gods will cooperate and provide us with a fitting day for this fun event!”

The race begins at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 13 with registration open at 8:30. Entry fees are $25 for the 5K in advance and $30 on race day; $15 for the mile walk in advance and $20 on race day, and children under 14 are free. The event is rain or shine.
