Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice Hosts 14th Annual Giving Thanks, Preserving Memories
Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice recently hosted Giving Thanks, Preserving Memories, an annual project that provides 500 meals – and a few goodies – in baskets made up and then delivered personally to more than 100 Samaritan families.
For the 14th consecutive year, Giving Thanks, Preserving Memories helped families coping with a life-limiting illness to enjoy the time they have together around the Thanksgiving holiday without the worry of preparing a traditional holiday meal.
Deliveries were made to patients throughout Samaritan’s 2,200 square mile service area. Baskets consisted of meals prepared by CulinArt, pies, table decorations, chocolates, sparkling cider and other items, including some craft decorations created by the SamariTeens, Samaritan’s teen volunteers, to help preserve the memories of what could be a last Thanksgiving holiday together.
