Severe Thunderstorm Warning in Effect For South Jersey

The National Weather Service is warning residents in its path to seek shelter.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for portions of southern New Jersey, including Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties, through 6 p.m.

At 4:49 p.m., the National Weather Service Doppler Radar indicated a severe thunderstorm near Beckett moving east at 15 miles an hour.

The storm is capable of producing quarter sized hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 miles an hour.

The storm was expected to hit West Deptford around 5:25 p.m.

The National Weather Service warns that this is a dangerous storm, and residents in its path are advised to move indoors to a sturdy structure and stay away from windows.
