Shared Services Under Consideration In Haddonfield Area
Several borough leaders said they will use a grant to defray the cost of examining how sharing some emergency services may be beneficial.

HADDONFIELD AREA, NJ — Haddonfield, Haddon Heights and Barrington were recently awarded a $75,000 grant to examine how shared services might help ensure fire protection and emergency medical services are always available for their residents, those communities' leaders said.
"By undertaking this study, we're able to put our our commitment to [first responders] and their departments into action," Haddonfield Mayor Colleen Bianco Bezich said. "It makes it possible for us to address he realities of firefighting and [emergency medical services] in meaningful and productive ways."
Previous studies have shown that in some instances, communities that share services reduce costs to their taxpayers and enhance the quality of the service being shared, the communities' leaders said.
