Small Business Weekend Kicks Off Season In Downtown Haddonfield

HADDONFIELD, NJ - Thanksgiving is almost here, and so, of course, is the 2018 holiday shopping season. Haddonfield is going big with its shop small ideas. In Haddonfield, Small Business Saturday is now Small Business Weekend, and runs from Nov. 23-25.

The weekend is dedicated to supporting small businesses during one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. While shopping Downtown, Haddonfield residents are encouraged to show their ‘Shop Haddonfield’ Property Tax Reward Card.

“Merchants along Kings Highway and our charming side streets – including Mechanic, Ellis and Tanner Streets, Haddy Lane, Kings Court and Haddon Avenue – will be going all out to make this shopping experience extra special with incentives, trunk shows and other promotions,” Downtown Haddonfield said in its announcement. “Free parking will also be available from November 23 through December 25.”

Candlelight Shopping will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23. The borough Christmas Tree will be lit at 6:30 p.m. at the library. This will be followed by a parade featuring Santa Claus to Kings Court. Musical performances during this kick-off evening will include Pick Up Band, Here Comes Treble, Shades of Harmony, and Cherry Hill Pine Barons Chorus.

On Small Business Saturday, Nov. 24, shoppers can enjoy musical performances by Here Comes Treble, Conservatory of Musical Arts Flute Quartet, Shades of Harmony, and Louis Vincent Trio. Horse-drawn carriage rides will also be available from noon to 3 p.m.

“Shopping small and locally contributes tremendously to our local economy,” said Remi Fortunato, retail recruiter for the Partnership for Haddonfield (PfH). “We’re grateful for all who have participated in Small Business Weekend over the years, and we’re looking forward to once again bringing this special shopping event to Downtown Haddonfield.”

Downtown Haddonfield will be punctuated by sparkling white lights and garland wreaths surrounded by the sounds of holiday bells and music. Every Friday evening leading up to Christmas, the streets of Haddonfield will be lined with luminarias for Candlelight Shopping, providing holiday warmth and a festive atmosphere.
