Students in the program get to take English classes in Haddonfield three days a week at Grace Church. Also, while they’re in South Jersey, students will visit New York, Great Adventure, and Ocean City.
They’ll get to watch a River Sharks game, bowl at Laurel Lanes, and hang out at the Cherry Hill Mall. Host families are welcome but not required to participate in any or all of the activities. For trips, luxury transportation is free and event tickets are half price.
Students have already been placed with families in Cherry Hill, Haddon Township, Collingswood, and Berlin.
“Our motivation for becoming a host family was simply to “give back” and create good karma. It was about giving – not receiving,” said Moorestown resident Denise Moorhouse, whose family hosted last year. “I was unaware at the time that our experience as a host family would enrich our lives beyond measure.”
