South Jersey Young Professionals Association to Honor N'Namdee Nelson with 2015 Halo Award

The South Jersey Young Professionals Association (SJYPA) is proud to announce N’Namdee Nelson as this year’s distinguished Halo Award winner. Nelson, who is being recognized for his lengthy history of social work in the South Jersey community, will formally receive his award at the 6th Annual 2015 Halo Ball presented by AnnieMac Home Mortgage on February 21 from 6 p.m. to midnight at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill.

Nelson is Residential Program Director for Legacy Treatment Services which provides professional and personalized mental health treatment plans to at-risk youth, adults and families in South Jersey. As Founder and Executive Director of the nonprofit organization Rising Leaders, Nelson helps disadvantaged and at-risk youth in Camden and the surrounding areas receive services such as mentoring, life-skills programs, job-readiness classes, hip-hop education workshops, community service projects, and health and fitness programs.

Nelson, of Camden, also spent seven years with the Camden County Metropolitan YMCA Camden City Branch, starting as a counselor and eventually being appointed Childcare Director, where he oversaw a program providing more than 150 young people with safe and structured educational activities. He founded Phenomenal Entertainment, an entertainment source to connect with young people in the community and create an opportunity for motivational speaking.
