Summer Olympics 2016: Haddonfield High School Graduate Qualifies for 10K

Marielle Hall qualified during the U.S. Olympic Trials over the weekend.

Haddonfield, NJ -- A graduate of Haddonfield Memorial High School is going the distance for a chance to win Olympic Gold this summer.

Marielle Hall will compete in the 10,000 meters at the Summer Olympics in Rio next month.

She qualified with a third-place finish in the women’s 10K at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Oregon over the weekend, according to nj.com. She won the national championship in the 5K while at the University of Texas in 2014.

Hall’s personal best in the event is 31 minutes, 37.45 seconds, according to iaaf.org. She ran that in Palo Alto, California, in May.

The summer games run from Aug. 5-21.
