Swastikas Painted On Trees At Quaker Graveyard In Haddonfield

The crime may have occurred the same week that state officials reported that 2021 was a record year for bias incidents in New Jersey.

HADDONFIELD – Two swastikas were spraypainted on trees at the entrance of a Quaker graveyard in Haddonfield, a spokesperson from Haddonfield Friends Meeting told Patch.

Police were still investigating the incident as of Sunday.

The graveyard faces the meetinghouse to the Haddonfield Friends Meeting, the spokesperson said.

The police department did not immediately respond to Patch’s request for comment.

Just last week, New Jersey Acting Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin said preliminary data indicated 1,871 bias incidents were reported to state law enforcement agencies in 2021, the highest annual number of bias incidents reported since such data started being tracked in 1994.
