Teen, Man Killed In Crash Involving Snow, Ice In Camden Co.: Police

The car ran off the highway, hit snow and ice, became airborne and struck multiple objects, authorities said.

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ — A man and a teenager died after their car impacted snow and ice off the roadway, became airborne and struck multiple objects Tuesday night on Interstate 76 in Gloucester City, authorities said.

The one-car crash happened at 11:22 p.m. on I-76 North, about a mile away from the Walt Whitman Bridge, according to State Police.

An Infiniti car driven by Angel Roque ran off the roadway to the right and hit snow and ice, said State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron. The car then became airborne, traveled over the guardrail, and hit a light pole and a wall.

It's unclear what caused the car to travel off the roadway.

Roque, 25, of Camden, had one passenger in the car, who State Police identified as Lizvette Alvarado, 18, of Paulsboro. Both suffered deadly injuries in the crash sequence, which flung them from the vehicle.
